About this Mod
Immersive Damage Indicators adds floating animated text whenever you damage a mob, with support for custom fonts, animations, and color effects using Immersive Messages API.
This mod is an updated multiloader fork of Mmm Indicators with the rendering system entirely replaced through Immersive Messages, to support custom effects and animations.
If you want custom fonts, you will need to install Caxton. However, custom fonts will not work with Iris shaders enabled, and this mod will automatically default back to using the vanilla text renderer.
This mod will automatically use the Anton font by default if Caxton is installed, which can be changed in the config or set to blank to disable:

You can also set custom colors, change the red hurt color to something else, and toggle off each effect individually.
If you are a developer, you can also use the provided events to have full access to the particle instance and the ImmersiveMessage object for custom styling:

How to Install Immersive Damage Indicators on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.1).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Immersive Damage Indicators". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Immersive Damage Indicators server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Immersive Damage Indicators compatible with fabric and forge and neoforge?
Immersive Damage Indicators officially supports fabric, forge, neoforge for Minecraft 1.21.1, 1.20.1, 1.20. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Immersive Damage Indicators – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Immersive Damage Indicators consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
