About this Mod

Item Glow adds true emissive rendering to items in Minecraft.

Discord Ko-fi Fiverr

Any item that uses an _emissive texture variant will render at full brightness - glowing in your hand, in inventories, and anywhere items are rendered. No shaders. No OptiFine.

This is a lightweight, client-side mod designed to feel like a missing vanilla feature.

Features

  • Emissive items render at full brightness
  • Works in-hand, in GUIs, and all item render contexts
  • Automatic detection via _emissive textures
  • Compatible with modded items and resource packs
  • No shaders or OptiFine required
  • Minimal performance impact

How it works

Simply add an _emissive texture variant to your item model.
Item Glow handles the rest.
No configs required. No special APIs. Just works.

Example: https://bobotweaks.gitbook.io/item-glow/

Compatibility

  • Client-side only
  • Works alongside most rendering and content mods
  • Safe to use on servers (visual only)
