About this Mod
Dead Horizon
A survival-focused Minecraft mod inspired by abandoned worlds, desperate scavenging, and the feeling of exploring places where civilization has already fallen.
The goal of this mod is to create a more atmospheric zombie apocalypse experience by adding new structures, survival items, and environmental storytelling to the world.
Instead of simply spawning zombies everywhere, the mod focuses on discoverable locations, scavenging, and small details that make the world feel like it once had people living in it.
Current Features (Alpha):
• Hunter's Cabin – a small survival structure that can generate in the world
• Canned Tomatoes – simple scavenged food item
• Military Shovel (work in progress)
Planned Features:
• More abandoned structures and survivor locations
• Military camps and quarantine zones
• Scavenging loot like canned food and survival supplies
• Environmental storytelling through structures and items
• Expanded survival mechanics
This project is currently in very early development.
Expect unfinished content, missing textures, and experimental features.
The mod will grow step by step with new locations, items, and survival systems.
The world has already fallen.
Now the question is simple: how long can you survive?

Is Dead Horizon compatible with forge?
Dead Horizon officially supports forge for Minecraft 1.20.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Dead Horizon – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Dead Horizon consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
