Kinetic
A simple overhaul of the fall damage mechanic giving more meaning to falling.
About this Mod
⛰️ Kinetic – A Fall Damage Overhaul Mod
Kinetic redefines how fall damage works in Minecraft, bringing a more dynamic and meaningful mechanic to the game. Instead of the usual fall damage that increases with height, Kinetic introduces a system where falls have varying effects based on distance. Shorter falls may offer rewards, while longer falls come with consequences. This new system adds a layer of strategy to mobility and exploration, making every fall a calculated risk.
⚙️ Features
- Dynamic Fall Damage – Short falls (under a certain height) will no longer damage you. Instead, they provide a positive effect such as increased speed for a short period of time.
- Increased Damage with Height – Falls from greater heights will inflict more damage, but with the twist that the damage is accompanied by negative status effects, such as slowness, weakness, or nausea, representing the consequences of falling from high places.
- Immersive Gameplay – Adds immersion by rewarding players for careful navigation and penalizing reckless falls, encouraging more thoughtful movement in dangerous areas.
📥 Usage
- Install the Mod – Simply place the
kinetic-{version}.jarfile into your Minecraft mods folder. - No Tinkering Required – This mod works automatically, applying the effects based on your fall distance.
⚠️ Note: This is an experimental mod that changes the way fall damage works, so use at your own risk! It has been tested for balance and stability but may require adjustments in future versions for a better experience.

Kinetic server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.4). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Kinetic compatible with fabric?
Kinetic officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.4. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Kinetic – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Kinetic consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
