About this Mod
🔥 Overview
The Lava Detector Mod is a lightweight, client-side utility designed to increase player safety and awareness, particularly when mining deep underground, exploring the Nether, or traversing dangerous caves. It provides real-time, visual feedback showing the exact distance to the nearest lava source, allowing you to react quickly and avoid tragic mining accidents.
🌟 Features
Real-Time Detection: The mod continuously scans the area around the player, checking every block for stationary or flowing lava.
Proximity Warning: The HUD warning only appears when the player is 20 blocks or closer to the nearest lava source, preventing screen clutter when traveling in safe areas.
Dynamic Color Coding: The warning text changes color based on proximity:
- Yellow/Orange: Lava is detected, but not immediately close (safe distance).
- Red: Lava is dangerously close (e.g., within 5 blocks), indicating immediate risk.
Full Dimensional Support: Works perfectly in the Overworld, the Nether (where lava is abundant), and the End.
Client-Side Only: This mod does not need to be installed on a server; it works purely on your computer.
⚙️ Configuration (To be added)
Future versions will include a configuration file to adjust the Detection Radius (default is 20 blocks) and the position of the HUD display.

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Lava Detector consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
