About this Mod

LegacyAuth

Lightweight mod that restores secure player authentication to legacy servers (e.g., b1.2_02) where online-mode no longer works verifies identities and blocks name spoofing. Additionally, LegacyAuth restores player skins to Beta versions of Minecraft — allowing players to see proper skins once again.

Setup

Authentication (Required on client and server):

Drop the JAR into the mods/ folder.
Join servers normally

Skins (Client-only):

Only the client needs the mod installed to restore player skins.
Works seamlessly even if the server does not have the mod.

How to Install LegacyAuth on Your Server

Order Server

Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).

Set ornithe Loader

In the panel under "Egg", select the ornithe loader and matching Minecraft version (b1.7.3).

Install Mod

Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "LegacyAuth". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.
