About this Mod

libhud is a small library mod for fabric aiming to provide better compatibility between mods adding ingame hud components to the game.

If you're a

  • player: This mod won't change anything gameplay-wise for you, other mods might depend on libhud though, requiring you to install it alongside them
  • modpack creator: Even though libhud aims to improve compatibility, it will take some time for other mods to adopt and support libhud, thus there will inevitably be incompatibilities - please ask the creators of incompatible mods to implement support
  • modder: libhud provides a simple api for adding hud components. It is fully documented here. If you need any help implementing libhud support for your mod, join my discord here.

Frequently Asked Questions

libhud server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.2). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is libhud compatible with fabric?

libhud officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.20.2, 1.20.1, 1.20. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with libhud – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if libhud consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
