MapReset Mod Documentation
Welcome to the MapReset Mod for Minecraft 1.21.11 (Fabric). This mod is designed to save specific areas of a world (e.g., minigame arenas) and restore them to their original state instantly via command.
🪄 The Main Tool: The Reset Wand
To mark areas, you need the MapReset Wand.
Appearance:
It looks like a Blaze Rod.
How to get it: Use the command /mapreset wand or find it in the "Tools & Utilities" Creative tab.
Usage:
Set Position 1: Left-click on any block.
Feedback: You will hear a "pling" sound, and a green message will appear above your hotbar.
Set Position 2: Right-click on any block.
Feedback: A "chime" sound will play, and a blue message will appear above your hotbar.
Visualization: Once both positions are set, small white particles (End Rod particles) will appear at the corners of the selected area as long as you are holding the wand.
💻 Commands:
All features are controlled via the main command /mapreset.
Command Description:
/mapreset wand Gives you the magical MapReset Wand.
/mapreset scan Saves the currently selected area as a template.
/mapreset reset Restores the saved area to its original state.
🛠️ How it Works (Background)
Marking: The mod stores the coordinates separately for every player.
Scan: When scanning, a file is created in your world folder (/saves/WORLDNAME/mapreset/reset_template.dat). This file contains all block data for the area.
Reset: During a reset, all blocks in the target area are cleared and replaced by the blocks from the template. This process is extremely fast and optimized to prevent server lag.
🎨 Features & Quality of Life
Actionbar Feedback: All important information is displayed directly above your hotbar, so you don't miss it in the chat.
Audio Feedback: Special sounds confirm every action, providing acoustic confirmation.
Particle Guide: Particles help you see exactly which area is currently selected.
Combat Protection: While holding the wand, you cannot accidentally hit mobs or players (attacks are blocked), ensuring it functions purely as a tool.
Have fun building and resetting your maps! 🚀

Map Reset server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.11). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Map Reset compatible with fabric?
Map Reset officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.11. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Map Reset – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Map Reset consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
