About this Mod
Ever joined a server and wondered "Have I seen this person before?" MetBefore remembers for you.
The mod records every player you share a server with. The next time you meet them, a toast notification appears with their name, meet count, last seen date, and server.
What you get
- HUD notifications - toast with the player's head, name, meet count, and server pops up when you see someone you've met before
- Player history - searchable list of every player you've encountered, with sorting and filters (press L to open)
- Player details - full info per player: timestamps, servers, meet history timeline, and personal notes
- Bulk delete - select multiple players and delete them at once
- Watchlist - choose to only get notified about specific players

Does this work on servers?
Yes - fully client-side, no server installation needed.
What data is stored?
Player names, UUIDs, skins, meet timestamps, and server addresses. Stored locally in .minecraft/metbefore/players.json.

How to Install MetBefore on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.11).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "MetBefore". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

MetBefore server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.11). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is MetBefore compatible with fabric?
MetBefore officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.11, 1.21.10, 1.21.3. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with MetBefore – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if MetBefore consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
