Stacks identical items together.

Arranges items in a tidy, predictable order.
Player inventory sorting (hotbar-safe)

[J] button to sort only your main inventory:
Affects the 27 slots above the hotbar.

[↑] button to send as many items as possible from your inventory into the open container:
Merges into existing stacks first.
Fills empty container slots next.
Honors the hotbar lock (see below).
Pull all from container (smart “loot all”)

[↓] button to pull items from the container into your inventory:
Stacks into existing matching items in your inventory.
Fills your empty inventory slots.

Safe trash can with fire animation

[🗑] button to permanently delete items:
Requires Shift to be held as a safety lock.
Works by clicking while carrying an item or dropping items onto the trash area.

Hotbar lock (protect your tools)

[🔒 / 🔓] button near the hotbar:
🔓 Unlocked: the [↑] deposit button is allowed to empty your hotbar.
🔒 Locked: the [↑] deposit button will ignore the hotbar completely.
You can still move items manually; the lock only affects auto‑deposit.

Clean GUI integration

Buttons are added to vanilla container GUIs:
Chests (single/double), trapped chests, ender chests, shulker boxes.
The trash can in inventory/crafting screens is automatically positioned to avoid overlapping:

Recipe book.
Effect/buff icons.
Hotbar.

No new items or blocks
Minetales is purely an inventory QoL mod.
No new recipes, no balance changes, no worldgen.
Getting Started

Requirement: Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge.
Install Minetales on:
Singleplayer: client only.
Multiplayer: both server and clients for full functionality.
Once installed:

Open any chest, ender chest, or shulker box.
Look at the top‑right of the container GUI for the new buttons: C, J, ↑, ↓.
Look near the left of your hotbar for the hotbar lock (🔒 / 🔓).
Look near the bottom‑right of the GUI for the trash can (🗑).
Buttons Overview
Container / Inventory Buttons

[C] – Sort Container
Sorts the open chest/shulker inventory.
Stacks identical items.
Removes empty gaps.
Keeps items in a neat, stable order.

[J] – Sort Player Inventory
Sorts your player inventory without touching the hotbar.
Only affects the 27 main slots above the hotbar.

[↑] – Deposit All to Container
Moves as many items as possible from your inventory into the open container.
Merges into existing stacks first, then uses empty container slots.
Respects the hotbar lock:

🔓: includes hotbar items.
🔒: skips hotbar entirely.
[↓] – Pull from Container

Moves items from the container into your inventory.
Prioritizes stacking into existing inventory stacks.
Uses empty inventory slots.
Leaves any remaining items in the container if you run out of space.

Trash Can
[🗑] – Safe Trash
Permanently deletes items when:
You are holding Shift, and
You click the trash button while carrying an item or
You drop an item onto the trash area.
If you are not holding Shift, nothing is deleted.
A fire/trash animation appears inside the icon when you hover with an item, indicating the danger zone.

Hotbar Lock

[🔒 / 🔓] – Hotbar Lock
Small button near the left side of the GUI, aligned with your hotbar.
🔓 (unlocked):
↑ deposit button is allowed to move items from all inventory slots, including hotbar.
🔒 (locked):
↑ deposit button will never move items from the hotbar (slots 0–8).

Manual movement is always allowed; the lock affects only auto‑deposit.

Smart Sorting & Transfer Rules
Item stacking rules
Uses Minecraft’s standard stack logic.

Only stacks items that are the same item with the same tags/NBT (enchanted, renamed, or special items are kept distinct).

Sorting rules
First stacks items together and removes empty gaps.

Then arranges them into a stable, predictable order inside the container or player inventory.
Deposit rules ([↑])
Works only between:
Your inventory, and
The currently open container.
Obeys the hotbar lock state.
Pull rules ([↓])
Never overflows your inventory:
Fills stackable slots.
Then fills empty slots.
Leaves any excess in the container.
Safety Notes
Trash is permanent
Deleted items are gone forever.

No undo / no recycle bin in this version.
Shift is required

You must hold Shift to delete items via the trash can.
Without Shift, the trash area is effectively safe to click.

Grave / Tombstone Mods
Minetales does not change how items are handled on death.
Any grave/tombstone mod you use will work as usual; Minetales only affects live inventory actions.

Multiplayer & Compatibility
Environment
Minecraft: 1.20.1
Loader: Forge

Usage
Singleplayer: install on the client.

Server: install on the server and require clients to have it for full GUI features and networking.

Compatibility
No modification of loot tables, combat, worldgen, or progression.
Primarily client‑side GUI plus server‑side inventory logic.

Designed to be compatible with most other mods that do not fundamentally replace vanilla container logic.

Tips & Recommended Use
Protect your essentials
Keep tools, weapons, food, and torches in your hotbar.

Set the hotbar lock to 🔒 before spamming ↑ in storage rooms.
Fast looting

Use ↓ in dungeon chests and loot chests to quickly pull items into your inventory with smart stacking.

Stay tidy
Press C often on storage chests to keep them organized.
Press J when your backpack gets messy; your hotbar layout remains untouched.

Most common cause: wrong forge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Minetales compatible with forge and neoforge?

Minetales officially supports forge, neoforge for Minecraft 1.21.1, 1.20.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Minetales – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Minetales consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
