About this Mod

Overview

This is a highly work in progress compatibility layer between Mini Tardis and Immersive Portals, using the latter to create a "Bigger on the Inside" or BOTI effect for the TARDIS. It additionally fixes a hard incompatibility that Mini Tardis has with Immersive Portals when used alone together.

A glimpse into a TARDIS

Important

This mod completely and utterly smashes and destroys the Polymer-based server-side functionality of Mini Tardis I worked so hard to create, though it does so in a moderately controlled manner. This is to say, it will only work when used on both server and client.

Disclaimer

Despite being fully functional in testing, this mod is marked alpha for a reason. Expect bugs, and please report any you find on the issue tracker or my Discord.

How to Install Mini Tardis: BOTI on Your Server

Order Server

Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).

Set fabric Loader

In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.1).

Install Mod

Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Mini Tardis: BOTI". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Mini Tardis: BOTI server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Server lagging with Mini Tardis: BOTI – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Mini Tardis: BOTI consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
