About this Mod

Hey! This didn't exist and I wanted it so I made it.

Mob List is a Fabric mod for Minecraft Java Edition that displays a list of mobs within render distance (up to 128 blocks), as well as how many of them exist. This should help with mob farms, which is the reason why I created it, though I'm sure it can be used for other things as well! By default, the config can be pulled up with the F9 key. Mob List is compatible with resourcepacks that replace Minecraft's in-game text, and the font will be reflected on the Mob List text.

Speaking of font resourcepacks, check out my HD Minecraft font, it goes super well with Mob List.

The HD font can be found here: FullHD Font Unofficial

Mob List is client-side only, so it works with any singleplayer world or multiplayer server.

I am unsure about compatibility with mods that add new mobs, this is untested.

FEATURES:

  • Scale Slider
  • Seperate between baby and adult mobs
  • Draggable Mob List display
  • Anchor Mob List to any corner or the center of your Minecraft window
  • Configurable hotkey

Frequently Asked Questions

Mob List server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.7). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Mob List compatible with fabric?

Mob List officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.7, 1.21.6, 1.21.5. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Mob List – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Mob List consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
