About this Mod

Motley's Music Discs is a mod for Minecraft that adds dozens of classic (and modern!) songs to the game in the form of music discs in a retro-style. Each track was custom-produced by various musicians (full credits in mod description) and given a unique texture to match the theme/vibe of the song.

Nearly every disc this mod adds can be found in a loot chest, and all of the discs can be obtained through the vanilla method of getting a skeleton to shoot a creeper to death.

More discs and full loot tables are being worked on!

Obligatory: This mod is a work in progress. Please report any bugs or issues you might find to Github.

This mod is developed for Fabric.
There are no plans to develop a Forge version.

How to Install Motley's Music Discs on Your Server

Order Server

Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).

Set fabric Loader

In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.19.4).

Install Mod

Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Motley's Music Discs". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Motley's Music Discs server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.19.4). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Motley's Music Discs compatible with fabric?

Motley's Music Discs officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.19.4, 1.19.3, 1.19.2. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Motley's Music Discs – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Motley's Music Discs consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
