About this Mod
Mushrooms and Caverns Mod
Welcome to the Mushrooms and Caverns Mod! This Minecraft mod for version 1.21.11 (Fabric) introduces a whole new vast ecosystem with unique biomes, blocks, items, and mobs. Explore glowing mushroom forests, mine rare ores, and survive among new creatures!
The mod will be updated to later versions of Minecraft once a full version comes out.

Note: Your version may not have some of these featuers as I am still developing this mod. You may see some features in-game not listed here as well.
New Surface Biomes
- Fungi Forest: Near the scapes of the water, the Fungi Forest appears! Explore new trees, mushrooms, mobs, and more.
New Underground Biomes
- Glowing Mushrooms: Discover this underground wonder filled bioluminescent mushrooms and lush vegetation. Find new fruits and structures along the way!
- Amethyst Mushrooms: In Development
New Blocks, Ores, & Items
Blocks/Ores: With new biomes comes new blocks to discover! New blocks and ores include:
- Fungi Dirt & Fungi Grass: A new kind of soil with an odd color.
- Fungi Wood: From the strange purple lands, this new aged wood can be used just as any other wood.
- Bioluminescent Blocks: Glowing mushroom blocks and glowing sapphire blocks create an astounding natural light source perfect for your base.
- Glowing Sapphire Ore: Mine this new rare ore perfect for crafting new unique gear and items.
Items: These new biomes introduce some new strange items. New items include:
- Fungi Stick: With these strange flexible sticks, you will need these to make new tools and blocks.
- Glowing Sapphire Tools & Armor: Speaking of new tools, new glowing sapphire armor and tools can help aid you in the mines or on your next adventure!
- Fungi: Found on the sides of the fungi trees, these strange mushrooms may benifit your next adventure.
- Magic Stone: I wonder what this does... :)

New Structures
- Hidden in the Glowing Mushroom biome, you may find a lost home. They may have left some gear behind.

Available Versions
How to Install Mushrooms and Caverns on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 4 GB RAM (6 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.11).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Mushrooms and Caverns". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Mushrooms and Caverns server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 4 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.11). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Mushrooms and Caverns compatible with fabric?
Mushrooms and Caverns officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.11, 1.20.6, 1.20.5. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Mushrooms and Caverns – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 6 GB (per 5 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Mushrooms and Caverns consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
