About this Mod

Instructions:

To disable iron from being craftable:

  1. Put the datapack in your datapack folder
  2. Run the command /datapack enable "file/NoSmeltingIron.zip" as OP.
  3. Run the command /reload as OP.

To make iron craftable again:

  1. Run the command /datapack disable "file/NoSmeltingIron.zip" as OP.
  2. Run the command /reload as OP.

You have to manually add/remove the mod version to control iron being smelted.

Purpose:

The purpose of this data pack is for progression control.

Makes iron ingots (minecraft:iron_ingot) unobtainable from the following sources:

  • Smelting any kind of iron ore (Smelting never starts)
  • Crafting ingots from iron nuggets
  • Smelting existing iron tools and armour back into nuggets

This datapack does NOT:

  • Remove iron tools or ingots from structure loot pools
  • Remove iron tools or ingots from monster loot pools
  • Remove iron tools or ingots from world generation.

How to Install No Smelting Iron on Your Server

Order Server

Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).

Set datapack Loader

In the panel under "Egg", select the datapack loader and matching Minecraft version (26.1.2).

Install Mod

Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "No Smelting Iron". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

No Smelting Iron server crashes on startup – what to do?
