About this Mod
NovaHook API
NovaHook is an API which implements easy-to-use functions for overriding Entity textures at runtime, based on both the default texture which will be overridden, and the state of entities in-world.
Note that this mod does not implement resource pack features for end users! This mod is intended entirely as a library for mods which do implement resource pack features.
Currently available for Fabric 1.17.1 (requires Fabric API version 0.45.0+1.17, and Fabric Loader version 0.12.12 )

NovaHook also contains recolored versions of some vanilla mob textures, used for testing, and will likely change/be removed from release to release. Said vanilla textures are owned by Mojang/Microsoft.

How to Install NovaHook on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.17.1).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "NovaHook". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

NovaHook server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.17.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is NovaHook compatible with fabric?
NovaHook officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.17.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with NovaHook – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if NovaHook consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
