About this Mod
Octaves of the One
A Fabric tech mod for Minecraft 1.21.4, themed on Walter Russell's cosmology — the two-way universe of rhythmic balanced interchange. Draw Light from the still centre of zero, wind it up through the octaves by generation (compression), pour it back out by radiation (expansion), and spend it across a wired and wireless grid to run machines, fly, farm, and transmute matter.
Light is carried, not consumed. The cosmology is flavour, not physics — but every block maps to one of Russell's ideas, so the tech tree reads as a working model of his system.
The loop, end to end
Everything is craftable from scratch in survival, and the in-game Great Work advancement tree guides you through it step by step.
- Mine & refine — Echocite ore → Echo Ingot, the core of every recipe. Drumstone and Silentite (Deep Dark) add further branches.
- Generate Light — the Resonant Coil winds ambient sound into stored Light; the Stillness Core trickles it from rest; the Octave Coil and Storm Caller power the late game.
- Carry & bank — Wave Conduits move Light on a network with fair, no-starvation distribution; Resonance Cells bank it; the Balancer keeps cells even.
- Spend it — the Compressor doubles ore, the Transmuter smelts with no fuel, and the radiation family (Growth/Warmth Radiator, Polarity Field) pours Light back into the world. The Resonant Thrusters give look-direction flight.
- Go wireless — tune devices to a shared channel and beam items, fluids, and Light with no conduit: the Wave Relay and a full family of channel gadgets.
- Transmute — every item has a Light Value; the Transmutation Table is your personal Bound-Light account: dissolve matter to bank it, withdraw Mote coins, or condense anything you've attuned.
- Build the garden — the glowing Lumewood set, Lumebloom, Lume Lantern, Echocite Bricks, and Verdant Loam.
