About this Mod

Another mod... bringing back Minecraft's old or removed recipes!

Including a "normal" and "friendly" version:

"Normal" versions don't care about Minecraft's gameplay and could make items useless or unobtainable through some recipes. No extra recipes have been added apart from the listed ones on the Minecraft Wiki.

"Friendly" versions or "friendlier" versions alter or remove recipes to make sure the base experience isn't dramatically changed (i.e. Netherite crafting recipes requiring a Smithing Template) and makes sure all items are obtainable.

(not including Bedrock Edition's recipes. #JavaIsBetter)

Frequently Asked Questions

Old Recipes server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong neoforge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.4). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Old Recipes compatible with neoforge?

Old Recipes officially supports neoforge for Minecraft 1.21.4, 1.21.1, 1.20.6. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Old Recipes – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Old Recipes consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
