About this Mod

Ore Detector

Ore Detector is a high-efficiency mining assistance mod specifically developed for Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge. Centered on high-tech detection equipment, it completely revolutionizes the blindness of traditional mining, helping players accurately locate various underground ore resources and making mining operations more scientific and efficient.

Core Features

🔎 Precision Ore Detection System

  1. Flexible Handheld Detection: Equip the Ore Detector in your main hand and carry the target mineral (raw ore, rough ore, or refined ingot are all acceptable) in your offhand, then right-click to activate detection.
  2. Full-Dimension Coverage: Supports ore searching in the three major dimensions: Overworld, Nether, and End. Automatic dimension detection is triggered with a prompt when switching across dimensions.
  3. Multi-Form Recognition: Intelligently matches multiple forms including raw ore blocks (including silk touch drops), rough ore items, and refined mineral ingots.
  4. Wide-Area Range Scanning: A single detection covers 3×3 chunks (48×48 blocks), eliminating the need for repeated movement to complete regional surveys.
  5. Cooldown & Durability: A 2-second usage interval prevents abuse, and each detection consumes durability to avoid unlimited use.

🎇 Immersive Visual Highlighting

  1. X-Ray Highlight Display: Directly shows glowing outlines of underground ores through blocks, allowing location without breaking blocks.
  2. Exclusive Color Coding: Each type of ore corresponds to a unique highlight border color, enabling quick distinction between coal, iron, diamond ores, etc.
  3. Dynamic Visual Effects: The highlight border features a breathing light pulsing effect, with particles drifting toward the player to form a guiding path, enhancing visibility.
  4. Performance-Friendly Optimization: Limits the number of rendered objects to prevent game lag caused by excessive highlights and particle effects.

⚙️ Intelligent Assistance & Persistence

  1. Intelligent Sorting Algorithm: Identifies ore types via fuzzy matching of item names. Detection results are sorted by distance from nearest to farthest, prioritizing the display of the closest resources.
  2. State Persistence: The detector’s usage status and discovered ore information are persistently saved and will not be lost after restarting the game.
  3. Real-Time Status Updates: Continuously monitors the status of discovered ores; ores are automatically removed from the highlight list once mined.
  4. Multilingual Localization: Fully supports Chinese and English display, with clear and easy-to-understand operation feedback and status prompts.

Quick Start Guide

  1. Obtain the Ore Detector and hold it in your main hand.
  2. Place the target mineral (e.g., iron ore, diamond, ancient debris, etc.) in your offhand.
  3. Right-click to trigger detection; it can be used again after a 2-second cooldown.
  4. Observe the corresponding color highlight borders and particle guides appearing on the ground to locate the ore position.
