Overview

Orpiment is another vanilla-friendly mod that adds Wraiths, Amber and Amber caves, Tar, new blocksets, and new slimes.

Features

Biomes

Amber Caves

Amber caves are a new underground biome, they spawn uncommonly in warmer temperature biomes.

Sap

Saps are a slime variant spawning in Amber Caves. They are by default neutral unless provoked. When spawned they will be filled with random loot, this loot is dropped upon its death.

Amber

Amber can be found in spheres on the walls or floors of the Amber Caves, when breaking an amber block it will drop 1-2 amber chunks.

Amber Blockset

Amber can be crafted into numerous blocks, including pillars, bricks, lamps, and chiseled blocks.

Cedar Forest

Cedar forests spawn in colder areas near taigas and birch forests.

Cedar Woodset

Cedar wood comes with all the normal wooden blocks.

Tar Pits

Tar pits are small pools found in arid and swamp biomes. And is made up of Tar liquid and Tarred sand.

Tar Cube

The Tar Cube spawns in Tar and tar pits, they are aggressive to the player and when hitting the player, the player will be inflicted with the Tarred effect. The Tarred effect worsens movement speed, jump height, swim speed, and more. Small Tar cubes will ignore the player and search for tar liquid, when in tar liquid for a few seconds they will size back up to a medium cube and attack the player again.

Mini-Bosses

Wraith

The Wraith is summoned by right clicking a Wraith altar with a Deepslate seal, Wraith altars spawning in Catacombs structures. It will circle the player doing numerous attacks like charging, firing projectiles, and summoning entities. At 25% health it will start to circle faster and increase its attack pool and speed. When killed it will drop a few bones and Wraith ectoplasm.

Utilities

Amber Cage

The Amber cage is crafted with 8 Amber chunks and 1 Wraith ectoplasm. When right clicked it will freeze the player and spawn 5 high damage projectiles above the players head. Then each subsequent right-click will fire those projectiles 1 by 1 in the direction the player is looking until all 5 have been used.

Ghost Block

Ghost blocks are simple blocks crafted with 4 phantom membranes and 1 Wraith ectoplasm. They can be placed anywhere regardless of if the player is looking at any block, allowing placement in direct air or similar places.
