About this Mod

UPDATE 1.0.2: Explore the hidden shadowy depths of the Dungeonthing dungeon! Battle tougher foes and possible nab yourself a shiny new armor set!

UPDATE! Now, waiting in the ends of the new dungeon lies the Tyrantula, a terrifying arachnid behemoth that will try to devour all players who dare venture too far into its lair!

Explore a tricky dungeon of monsters, treasure, and nonsensical architecture! What adventures await the middling-geared adventurer?

A passion-made mod that currently adds in a perilous new dungeon. This mod has Waystones support, and is in an alpha version, so you can expect more dungeons and other content in the future!

  • The dungeon, internally named "Dungeonthing", is a labyrinthine network of stone-brick halls. To find the dungeon, try spotting a new stone-brick gazebo structure that appears in forested areas. Inside the gazebo is a somewhat large shaft where you'll need to platform down to access the dungeon, and you'll find a Waystone at the bottom of the shaft if you have the Waystones mod. The halls themselves seem somewhat ornate but barren, and there are balconies where you can see surrounding ores, caves, and possibly even the surface.
  • Within said halls, you can expect to find trial spawners that spawn various altered mobs, like armed and armored zombies, regular and armored skeletons, and spiders of both normal and stronger stats.
  • Also, snuck in the depths of this dungeon, you are very likely to find treasure containing various mid-game or iron-tier equipment. Sometimes, rarer items like diamonds and golden apples can appear, and miscellaneous items similar to that of vanilla Minecraft's monster-spawner rooms can also appear alongside such items.
  • Each dungeon you find will be different than the last. One dungeon you find could be found in a nice, green foresty place, and the dungeon could be a simple line of various rooms, with some monsters inside. Another one could be flooded, and make traversal difficult, but could stop some spawners from spawning monsters. You could even find a snowed-over one, with a deadly, complex, and extensive maze of halls that will test your navigation skills to their limit, and riddled with spawners that bombard you with tough foes!
  • (NEW) At the ends of the dungeon, you may find a large room with a broken bridge. Descend into the room to find a spawner that will summon the Tyrantula. The Tyrantula is a boss consisting of a massive spider that is fast, deals lots of damage per hit, disables hit shields like an axe does when said shields are struck, and drops various loot upon death. Of the items the boss drops, a brand-new item, the Fang of Tyrantula, will drop in multiples. The Fangs of Tyrantula can be used to craft the poison-inflicting tools of Tyrantula, which also has a bit of durability and slightly-slow use-time. The boss isn't entirely a new mob, as it doesn't have a spawn egg, and is really a buffed spider.
