About this Mod

ihnvert's parrying daggers

🗡️Master the parry and block your enemy's attacks!

This mod adds four parrying daggers: Wood, Stone, Iron, Diamond, and Netherite. In order to use them properly you must right click as an attack is approaching in order for a parry to connect. The higher tier a dagger is, the lower the cooldown for the parry. All tiers of dagger reduce the same amount of damage. Daggers are still functional in the offhand and it is highly recommended you have a regular sword in your main-hand to act as your weapon of choice. An axe or any other weapon without a right click ability works as well.

Crafting:

  • Wooden Parrying Dagger - Wooden sword and a piece of flint in a crafting table.

  • Stone Parrying Dagger -  A wooden parrying dagger, cobblestone, and string in a crafting table.

  • Iron Parrying Dagger - A stone parrying dagger and an iron ingot in a smithing table.

  • Diamond Parrying Dagger - An iron parrying dagger and a diamond in a smithing table.

  • Netherite Parrying Dagger - A diamond parrying dagger and a netherite ingot in a smithing table.

More equipment may be added in the future!

Gamerules:

  • parryNegatesAllDamage - Set to true by default. Makes parrying negate all damage and bypasses knockback. If set to false, take knockback from attacks and receive reduced damage on successful parries instead of negating all damage.
  • parryDamageReduction - Only applies if parryNegatesAllDamage is set to false. The percentage of damage reduced by a successful parry. Default value is 80 and ranges from 0-100.

Roadmap:
(Not in any particular order)

  • Special parrying daggers with special properties.
