About this Mod

A wide image that has stylized text that reads,

What Is This????????????????

It's Peat I'm Afraid is a dimension/structure mod focused on Peat and other weird oddities.

I recommend using JEI or another recipe browser of your choice to view all of the new items & blocks the mod adds. Most of the new content can be found naturally in your world and some of the recipes are straightforward, explained in-game, or shown on the mod page here.

How May I Use This Mod?

You can use it in modpacks without my permission. Similarly, you're allowed to dissect this mod and use its assets as you see fit.

Compatibility

Aside from mods that overhaul world gen, this mod works with most other mods with no issues. Sadly, brewing related recipes in this mod aren't compatible with other mods that interact with said recipes, this is a limitation with Mcreator.

The new biomes added in this mod do not play nice with mods that overhaul biome/terrain generation, such as Terralith & Tectonic. The Glaggle Lands work fine aside from generating in weird patterns, but the Shredded Wasteland in my testing has not spawned.

Similarly, pressing F3 in the Peat Dimension without Terrablender installed crashes the game. If you're playing with Terralith, make sure Terrablender is also installed!

Surface Level Guide

The Overworld

This mod introduces Peat, a dirt like block, it can be found naturally in Shredded Wastelands, a new biome, or crafted using Dirt, Dried Kelp, Clay & Charcoal to produce 2 Peat Blocks.

A Minecraft 3x3 Crafting Grid, containing a dirt block, clay, dried kelp & charcoal, used to craft two peat blocks.

Peat can be used as furnace fuel, and is comparable to coal/charcoal in the amount it can cook. Peat can also be turned into Peat Bricks.

Compressed Coal Blocks can be crafted using 9 Coal Blocks, and act as both another way to store bulk coal, and also a powerful fuel source.

A Minecraft 3x3 Crafting Grid, all slots are filled with Coal Blocks, resulting in a single Compressed Coal Block

Two of any kind of Terracotta can be combined in a crafting grid to make Crushed Terracotta. On its own, it allows an easy way to convert any terracotta back into undyed/unglazed terracotta, but in particular, it has unique applications with Peat...

Peat can be taken to the next level, by combining 8 Peat blocks & 1 block of Compressed Coal in a crafting grid, you get Imperfect Peat, a block of Peat that has yet to realize its true potential.

A Minecraft 3x3 Crafting Grid, containing eight peat blocks encircling a block of compressed coal, the result is an Imperfect Peat Block.

On its own, Imperfect Peat can be used as a decent fuel source, but in order to realize its true potential, you'll first need to activate it.

Imperfect Peat can be combined with 4 Crushed Terracotta and 4 Amethyst to make two blocks of Activated Imperfect Peat, both superior as a fuel source to regular Imperfect Peat, and used to make the next step in Peat!

By smelting Activated Imperfect Peat in a Blast Furnace, you will make the pinnacle of Peat!
A Minecraft Blast Furnace GUI showing a block of Activated Imperfect Peat being smelted into a block of Ascended Peat

This creates Ascended Peat, a peculiar block that also happens to be an incredibly powerful fuel source, capable of smelting over 3000 items with just one block.

Aside from Peat, you may also find your local KFC chain in your travels, these being large Smooth Stone structures. Inside, you can find some basic loot, but also Cool-aid and the Fried Chicken Meal.

There are six different flavors of Cool-Aid, each providing their own different effects. They are made using six different food dyes that you can craft (Made using dye, sugar and a water bottle), or found naturally inside of KFCs.

There are six food dyes you can craft, made using Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange & Purple dyes respectively.

Fried Chicken Meals are a very powerful food item, they can be found naturally inside of KFCs. When consumed, ontop of filling out your hunger bar and saturation, they provide a strong buff.

Entering the Peat Dimension

So, you want more Peat, do you?

In order to enter the land of Peat, collect at least 10 Ascended Peat and place it in a nether portal-like frame. In order to light the portal, you will need to craft the Peat Mantle, made with a block of Ascended Peat and a Flint and Steel, when used on the portal frame constructed earlier, it will then create a portal to the Peat Dimension...

The Peat Dimension is a wasteland, home to sparse amounts of life, including the undead, Peat Men(?), and Joe. All surrounding various Peat structures, as well as flags of Spain? Many oddities (And good loot) await you in the Peat Dimension!

Waffle Houses will also spawn in the Peat Dimension, acting as an analogue to the overworld's KFCs. Waffle Houses contain Waffles, providing strong bursts of Health or Armor, depending on which one you eat. Waffle Engineers can also be found here.

Future Plans
