About this Mod

A whole new spin on

Chili peppers, chili peppers, and more chili peppers!

Put meat together and make chili or hot dogs with them to make even more hot food items or just eat them outright!

Eating a chili pepper inflicts you with a hint of Caliente, a new status effect that sets you and your foes alike alight! Make sure to carry a water bucket or milk bucket with you for safety.

Make Hot Sauce by brewing up a Chili Pepper for a pure Caliente III effect, and take your spice to the max!

Find Chili Peppers in Savannas and Meadows, where the sun is bright and the grass is as exposed to the heat of the sky as can be.

Even without the chili, Hot Dogs are still a nice snack. 3 Bread makes 6 Hot Dog Buns, and 3 of any Raw Meat (except rabbits; leave those poor guys alone) makes 6 Raw Hot Dogs. Then slap the Raw Hot Dogs on a Campfire or in a Furnace or Smoker (they cook twice as fast as other foods but only give about 57.14% the XP of other foodstuffs) and bam, you got yourself some generic tasty cooked bratwurst meatz.

You can even make yourself some shredded cheese to drown that capsaicin with some lactose. Get a Milk Bucket and mine up some Rock Salt to make Cheese Wedges which restore a bit of hunger on their own, then uncraft it to get 3 Shredded Cheese piles. (Cheese can also cure Poison and Wither effects!) Zombies and other foul undead creatures hate Rock Salt, so attack them while holding it and you can purify those evil guys (or just attack snail-like creatures while holding it if you wanna be a monster). You can even sprinkle it on any of the 4 variants of Ice to melt it instantly!

Rock Salt can be found simply by just mining Stone, Granite, Diorite, Andesite, Basalt, Smooth Basalt, and Calcite, with each block having its own individual chance of dropping it (+1% per level of Fortune on your pickaxe).

There's also lucky shamrocks that may spawn from breaking grass; if you get lucky with a 1 in 4000 chance you may just find one to boost the luck of your fishing rod or other tool...! Simply hold the tool in your off-hand and right-click with the four-leaf clover in your main hand and you'll get a lucky Tier IV enchantment straight onto that tool!

And if you have both the Geode Mania and Born in Chaos mods installed, you're in for a unique crafting recipe surprise... >:)

So go out there, grab your hoe, your pick, your shovel, your Paxel... whatever you fancy,

and go harvest those peculiar (yet precarious) Chili Peppers!

CHANCES OF SPAWNING ROCK SALT FROM MINED BLOCKS:

Spoiler Stone: 1/100 (1%) Andesite: 1/60 (~1.667%) Granite: 1/70 (~1.429%) Diorite: 1/80 (1.25%) Calcite: 1/40 (2.5%) Basalt/Smooth Basalt: 1/160 (0.625%)

Every level of Fortune adds +1% to this chance, regardless of block type.
At Fortune III, this is roughly...
Stone: 1/25 (4%)
Andesite: ~68/1457 (~4.667%)
Granite: ~50/1129 (~4.429%)
Diorite: ~2/47 (~4.255%)
Calcite: ~1/18 (~5.555%)
Basalt/Smooth Basalt: ~5/138 (~3.623%)
