🧭 [PvP Mod] Adds a Tracking Compass, which can track the nearest player's location.
About this Mod
Player Tracking Compass is a mod which adds a Tracking Compass, which tracks the nearest player on right click. If the player is within 10 blocks, it will track the next nearest player. This way you can use teams and track new targets when close together. Works separately from the default Minecraft compass.
Required on both the server and the client.
The Tracking Compass is a separate item from the normal compass.

Right clicking the compass results in the tracking of the player Serilum:
In this case the player Serilum is too close, and nobody else is online, so the tracking compass doesn't work:
You may freely use this mod in any modpack, as long as the download remains hosted within the CurseForge or Modrinth ecosystem.

How to Install Player Tracking Compass on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.20.1).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Player Tracking Compass". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Player Tracking Compass server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Player Tracking Compass officially supports fabric, forge, neoforge, quilt for Minecraft 1.20.1, 1.20, 1.19.4. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Player Tracking Compass consumes the most tick time.
