About this Mod
Pot Seeker
Pot Seeker is a lightweight Fabric client mod that renders compact status-effect indicators above loaded players.
It is extracted from the HeatSeeker Potion Seeker feature and packaged as a standalone mod for Minecraft 1.21.11.
Features
- Shows active effect icons above nearby loaded players.
- Uses vanilla HUD-style effect icons.
- Supports effects discovered from exact status-effect packets.
- Falls back to Minecraft 1.21.11
POTION_SWIRLSentity metadata when servers do not send exact effect packets for other players. - Optional through-wall rendering.
- Optional empty markers for troubleshooting visibility.
- Optional self-effect HUD display above the hotbar.
- Mod Menu configuration screen.
- Adjustable max displayed players, size, opacity, and vertical offset.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.21.11
- Fabric Loader 0.18.5 or newer
- Fabric API
- Java 21
- Mod Menu is optional but recommended for configuration.
Limitations
Minecraft clients do not always receive the exact status-effect list for other players. Pot Seeker uses the best available client-side data-blocked:
- exact
EntityStatusEffectS2CPacketdata when available; - vanilla
POTION_SWIRLStracked entity metadata as fallback.
The fallback is reliable for common visible vanilla effects, but stacked effects or effects with identical visual particle data may not always be distinguishable perfectly.
