About this Mod
About
This mod requires Minecraft version 1.21.8 and version 0.133.4 or greater of the Fabric API.
This mod adds a new item, Preserved Flesh, which allows the player to cook rotten flesh. Once cooked, you can eat the preserved flesh without any negative effects.
Preserved flesh gives the player 4 hunger points and 2 saturation points when ate, compared to rotten flesh's 4 hunger points and 0.8 saturation. It is not meant to be an alternative to cooked steak, hence the lackluster hunger and saturation levels.
The key difference between preserved and rotten flesh is that preserved flesh doesn't give the player the hunger status effect, making it a safe way to eat all of your unused rotten flesh.
Obtaining
Preserved flesh can be obtained by cooking rotten flesh in a furnace, smoker, or campfire with any fuel source. 1 rotten flesh, when cooked, will give the player 1 preserved flesh.

Preserved Flesh server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.8). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Preserved Flesh compatible with fabric?
Preserved Flesh officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.8. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Preserved Flesh – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Preserved Flesh consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
