About this Mod

⚠️ Disclaimer:

This mod was made using MCreator, and is my first project ever. It is intentionally unpolished in some areas to match the theme and limitations.

While extremely rare, the mod may cause intentional crashes as part of its design.

Do not read further unless you are okay with spoilers.

Project: Dread is a horror-themed Minecraft mod focused on mystery, sanity, and disturbing encounters. It won’t spell things out for you. You’ll need to explore, observe, and survive to uncover the truth.
What’s Known:

A sanity system tracks your mental stability. Reaching zero has consequences—visual, mechanical, and fatal.

There are two unknown entities lurking. Their behavior is not immediately obvious, and surviving them isn't guaranteed.

Certain items exist, though many are incomplete or have unclear effects… by design.

Visual glitches, screen static, and even rare crashes may occur. This is intentional, and meant to reinforce the horror atmosphere.

This mod is best experienced blind. Don’t expect tutorials, tooltips, or explanations—you’ll have to earn every scrap of understanding.

🔍 Spoiler Details (Only Read If You Don’t Mind Knowing):

The sanity system is capped at 50. Once it reaches 0 or lower, the player dies, and a static screen overlay is triggered.

Sanity does not naturally regenerate unless it is at or below 0, and possibly through food in future updates.

The two entities use 2D sprites rather than 3D models, inspired by analog horror and ARGs.

Several items exist with partial functionality and may be expanded upon in future versions.

The mod uses a persistent variable system to track sanity across sessions.

The entire design leans into subtle storytelling, disturbing visuals, and glitch-inspired mechanics.
