Protect My Pets!
This mod adds a new item, the Golden Tag.
This item can be applied to a pet to give them this tag, and they will turn invincible as long as the tag has durability.
Configuration
Located at the corresponding location for each loader:
NeoForge: config/Protect My Pets/protect-my-pets_config.toml
Forge: world/serverconfig/Protect My Pets/protect-my-pets_config.toml,
This config file allows you to customize a couple things.
You can customize:
- What entities the tag can be applied to
- The durability of the tag
How does it work?
When wearing the tag, your pets do not get hurt. Instead, all the damage is directed to the tag's durability. Once it reaches zero, the tag breaks, and you have to make another. Tags cannot be repaired, but they can be taken off by pressing Shift and Right click on your pet while holding shears.
If you press Shift and Right click on your pet with nothing on your hand, you'll be able to see the pet's tag's durability.

How to Install Protect My Pets! on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set forge Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the forge loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.5).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Protect My Pets!". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Protect My Pets! server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong forge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.5). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
