About this Mod
ProximiChat adds proximity voice chat to Minecraft. Hear other players through your speakers in real time — the further they are, the quieter they sound. No external software needed.
Features
Proximity voice — players within range are heard based on their distance
Whisper mode — a shorter range for private conversations nearby
Push-to-talk or voice activation — choose your preferred input mode
Mute system — mute specific players on your end
Private voice groups — talk with friends at any distance on the same server
Speaking overlay — small icons appear when nearby players are talking

Installation
Install Fabric Loader for your Minecraft version
Download Fabric API and place it in your mods/ folder
Place proximichat.jar in your mods/ folder
Launch the game — config is generated automatically at config/proximichat.json

M — Toggle Mute
Voice settings screen — unbound by default (set it in Controls)

How to Install ProximiChat on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.11).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "ProximiChat". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

ProximiChat server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.11). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is ProximiChat compatible with fabric?

Server lagging with ProximiChat – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if ProximiChat consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
