About this Mod

Quacky's Better Totems

Customize every part of Totem of Undying pop. Client-side only. Works on Lunar, Modrinth App, Feather, vanilla Fabric.

Features

  • Custom sounds — import any .ogg, set volume + pitch per profile.
  • Custom particle colors — separate palettes for self, teammates, others.
  • HUD pop tweaks — scale, spin speed, particle density.
  • Profiles — make as many as you want. Name them, duplicate, cycle through.
  • Live preview — "Test Totem Pop" button plays the full activation without consuming an item.
  • ModMenu config — everything lives in a clean in-game GUI.

Install

  1. Install Fabric Loader ≥ 0.19.2 for MC 1.21.11.
  2. Drop into mods/:
    • Fabric API 0.141.4+1.21.11 or newer
    • Mod Menu 17.0.0 or newer
    • quackys-better-totems-1.0.0.jar

Client-only — no server-side install needed.

Usage

  • Open Mod Menu → Quacky's Better Totems → configure.
  • Dashboard: toggle mod, switch active profile, test pop.
  • Profiles: rename inline, duplicate, delete.
  • Editor: import PNG/OGG, set colors + scale + animation per profile.
  • Save & Close to persist.

Compatibility

  • Minecraft: 1.21.11 only (Yarn API drift means cross-version isn't a single jar).
  • Loaders: Fabric. Other launchers (Lunar, Modrinth, Feather) work as long as they ship 1.21.11.
  • Conflicts: none known. File picker uses LWJGL TinyFileDialogs — no AWT, no Lunar OpenGL clash.

Known limitations

  • HUD totem texture override not yet implemented (1.21.11 item-model rewrite is invasive). Custom texture import is wired up for future use.
  • HUD color tint relies on a removed RenderSystem.setShaderColor API; color shows up in particles only for now.
