About this Mod

Radiocraft is a Minecraft mod that adds ham radio (also known as Amateur Radio) into Minecraft Java edition.

  • Adds realistic, immersive communication
  • Survival-friendly, challenging, and satisfying functionality
  • Educational and accurate (albeit simplified) representations of the real ham radio hobby!

What is Ham Radio?

Ham radio is a hobby and service that involves using the radio frequency spectrum for various purposes, such as communication, experimentation, education, and emergency assistance. Ham radio operators, also known as amateur radio operators or hams, need to obtain a license from their government to operate on certain frequency bands and follow certain rules. Ham radio allows hams to talk to other hams across the world, or even into space, using different modes of transmission, such as voice, text, image, and data. Ham radio is also a way to meet new people, learn new skills, and have fun!

Frequently Asked Questions

Radiocraft server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong neoforge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Radiocraft compatible with neoforge?

Radiocraft officially supports neoforge for Minecraft 1.21.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Radiocraft – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Radiocraft consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
