Revamped Floating Islands

Revamped Floating Islands is a datapack that seeks to build upon the vanilla floating islands world generation that existed before 1.18. Not only do all biomes and structures exist, but floating rivers and oceans also generate, along with floating bodies of water in all other biomes (all done with aquifers). There are other smaller tweaks as well meant to improve the quality of the vanilla floating islands.

"Is there any way to stop structures from generating in the void?"
- Check out my No Void Structures mod.
"Is this compatible with this Datapack / Mod?"
- If it changes terrain, no. If it adds biomes, it will be partially compatible (biomes may look weird depending on how they are implemented).

How to Install Revamped Floating Islands on Your Server

Order Server

Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 4 GB RAM (6 GB recommended).

Set datapack Loader

In the panel under "Egg", select the datapack loader and matching Minecraft version (26.1).

Install Mod

Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Revamped Floating Islands". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Revamped Floating Islands server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong datapack version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 4 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (26.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Revamped Floating Islands compatible with datapack and fabric and forge and neoforge and quilt?

Revamped Floating Islands officially supports datapack, fabric, forge, neoforge, quilt for Minecraft 26.1, 1.21.11, 1.21.10. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Revamped Floating Islands – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 6 GB (per 5 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Revamped Floating Islands consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
