About this Mod

Rift Things

This mod adds a key, which teleports the user to a private pocket dimension and back. Each key will memorize the latest location it has been used outside the pocket dimension and teleport the player there, when leaving the pocket dimension..
The base resource used by this mod are Rift Shards, which are obtained by killing Rift Remnants.
Rift Remnants have a small chance of spawning when the player kills a mob and can only be killed using magic or the Rift tools added by this mod.
Rift Tools are at the same level as diamond Tools.

Frequently Asked Questions

Rift Things server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Rift Things compatible with fabric and forge?

Rift Things officially supports fabric, forge for Minecraft 1.20.1, 1.16.5. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Rift Things – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Rift Things consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
