Rockhounding

Rockhounding aims to give more incentive to minecrafts overall progression by making several side upgrades to diamond a thing.

New gems

Rockhounding adds 2 new gems and a fictional ore to the game!

Rubies are native to the nether, they come with higher stats in exchange for lower durability.

Sapphires can be found normally and are a weaker, but more robust material compared to regular diamonds.

Emeralds also see a use, while they are the same tier as the other gems, they are the weakest among the gem tier equipment.

A new side-tier to netherite has also been added, Corrupt Fragments.
Corrupt fragments are significantly faster and stronger than netherite, but only have half the durability. They also appear in the overworld rather than the nether and can be applied to any gem tier with a regular upgrade template.

And last but not least, Galaxite. galaxite is a new tier above netherite. Galaxite is a combination of all gems.
Instead of being applied to previous tiers on a smithing table, galaxite requires you to craft the items through the crafting table, this makes them a lot more expensive than the netherite and corrupt equipment.

Unique Tier Items

Rockhounding gives every gem, as well as the tiers above them, unique items to make them more unique and useful outside just crafting your regular armor and tools.

Ruby Scimitar

the ruby scimitar is a fast, but low hitting, melee weapon. Making fighting with it different than your usual minecraft combat.

Sapphire Mace

on the opposite side we have the sapphire mace. it is extremely slow, but packs quite a punch.

Emerald Cane

The emerald cane isn't a tool or a weapon, it is simply a utility item. Holding the cane in either main- or offhand gives the player a 10% speed boost (seperate from the speed boost potion effect, so it can be stacked)

Diamond Beet

Even the diamond is getting a unique item! The diamond beet is an infinite food source that comes with a 30 second cooldown.
Additionally the diamond beet grants speed boost, protection as well as a short burst of health when eaten.

Neherite Musket

The netherite musket is a unique ranged weapon that doesn't require any ammunition, but takes 10 whole seconds to be able to fire again as well as being locked at exactly 20 damage.

Corrupt Multitool

Corrupt Tools can be crafted together to gain the corrupt multitool. The multitool can simply break any blocktype, handy to free up some inventory space.

Cosmic Fist

Galaxite can be crafted into the cosmic fist, this miracle of an item has 1000 mining strenght. It can basically insta-mine most blocks in the game.

Decorative blocks

Rockhounding obviously comes with a colorful new selection of blocks!
All gems can be crafted into a compact block to either save space (if you are that rich i guess) or just to decorate your builds!

End Notes

My little brother requested this mod and we worked on it together, him giving me directions and me working them out.
I would consider myself a beginner mod dev at best, so i hope the experience playing isn't horrible! I did a few survival playtests to make sure the mod is fun and works.
