About this Mod
Archive Note:
My mental health has worsened and got in the way.Creator Note:
- Don't expect this to be updated frequently or big updates. Mod is very unfinished reason for being in ALPHA.
- Reason I wanted to make this mod because I love rainworld so much and wanted to make a mod that I could make that has something from rainworld. I didn't do it because I wanted to join the hype train, I just did it for the fun of the game.
- Requires Fabric Kotlin Language, I don't have a clean badge for it :P
- This will of couse destroy your world! Plan to have a content update that will improve upon with the planned features.
- Constructive critique and/or feedback, feature requests, suggestions is always welcomed and very very much wanted! As well as for bug reports, and contribution!
- DOES NOT START TO INFECT ON ITS OWN!
- Hence, reason for being in ALPHA, you can make it start by going into creative mode and right click a block with a Cursor Wand.
Current: Alpha 1.0 - QoL Update:
- Switch to Kotlin.
- Including cleanup of the code, removing development trash.
- Enhanced BlockSpread System
- Alot less performance heavy, and generally better. (hopefully)
- Better Textures
- Instead of 32x32 block textures, it will be 16x16. As well as improving the textures with it, including Continuity stuffies.
- Idk why I decided to have 32x32 block textures, but it will be fixed! @m@
- Configuration
- Using MidnightLib.
This doesn't add much or any game content from last update, just a lil big QoL update + foundation. I plan to have a content update after this one.
Planned Features - Potentially For Content Update:
- Clustor System
- There will be clustors that spreads on there own, and in the middle of each clustor is a centeral heart/seed. Once the heart/seed is killed or died off, all the rot in that clustor will start to harden and not spread anymore.
- Not sure how this will go, but can't really think of anything other. AND I don't have much people to actively get feedback from which isn't so helpful.
- Intelligent Spreading
- Plan to make it more intelligent like, targeting light, player placed blocks, etc. So it isn't just going in random directions all of the time.
- Rotted Mobs
- Most likely just being 1 or 2 mobs, combat and spread unit
- It also may include a rotted player as well. (For rot cancer.)
- Rot Cancer
- this is how it infects mobs, and potentially players as well. Making it dangerous to be around rot without protection. Takes refrence from the rot cancer hunter has, and watcher DLC of couse!
- Have fun trying to get this off, or trying to live with it. :33
- More Rot Decor
- Rotted leaves, plants, flowers, etc.
- Making the rot more pretty I suppose. Havn't fully decided what this will contain yet.
Modpack Permission

The Rot server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is The Rot compatible with fabric?
The Rot officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.1, 1.20.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with The Rot – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if The Rot consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
