About this Mod
IMPORTANT: I am currently working on other projects and may return to this one in the future. Sorry for immediately putting this one on the side.
Note: This datapack is still in its pre-alpha stages and could change at any point. These changes may possibly break your world after switching to a new datapack version. This should be said in the versions changelog.
This datapack is also currently singleplayer only and could potentially be ported to multiplayer (no promises there)
Purpose
Rogue is a datapack attempting to replicate the rougelite-sandbox elements of Himno - The Silent Melody with less punishing mechanics and a more sandbox oriented design. Players will start on a skyblock-like island in the void, with a strange structure with a button. Upon pressing this button, the player will be teleported to a random point in the overworld. From there, the player must gather resources and either die, or find a recall potion and travel back to their base. After going on a run, the player can upgrade their island with farms, builds, and more.
Death Changes
To fit with the new roguelite theme, upon dying players no longer lose their gear. In the future there will be a configuration for this and for if you want to lose some of your items still when you die (percentage of items lost).
Notes
You can find the crafting recipes in the gallery for now. (or just unlock them) (later there will be a wiki either on the github or a github pages website)
You unlock the recall potion recipe just by playing the game.

Rogue server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong datapack version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.6). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Rogue compatible with datapack and fabric and forge and neoforge and quilt?
Rogue officially supports datapack, fabric, forge, neoforge, quilt for Minecraft 1.21.6. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Rogue – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Rogue consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
