Knarfy Ruined Minecraft Live (yet again)
Minecraft 2nd Minecraft Live of 2026 just finished at Twitchcon and we got some announcements for what's coming next! This mod includes the new Biome as well as some of the new features and then takes it one step further to make things just a little bit worse.

What's in the mod?
- New Dappled Forest Biome!
- Based on the features from Minecraft Live
- New Poplar Wood Set
- New Red Bush plant (dyeable)
- Rarely will spawn as a jeb_ bush
- Squirrels
- Spawn in any forest Biome
- They'll steal your items and run away
- Food can and will be eaten
- Enchant your armor and tools with the new "Firm Grip" enchantment to prevent them from stealing
- They REEEALLY love acorns (dropped from oak leaves)
- Don't give them gunpowder if they already have an acorn!
- But you can craft something special with gunpowder and an acorn... try it.
- Owls
- Spawns in the dappled forest
- You can hear them screech from very far away
- If you listen closely, they sometimes have a little additional request for you
- Stair & Slab Sheep
- Created by smashing a sheep with a Mace
- Shear them to get the new wool blocks!

- Abandoned Campsite Structures
- Rare generation in forested biomes
- Some have been abandoned for longer

How to Install Ruined Dappled Forest on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set neoforge Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the neoforge loader and matching Minecraft version (26.1.2).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Ruined Dappled Forest". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Ruined Dappled Forest server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong neoforge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (26.1.2). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Ruined Dappled Forest compatible with neoforge?
Ruined Dappled Forest officially supports neoforge for Minecraft 26.1.2. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Ruined Dappled Forest – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Ruined Dappled Forest consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
