Current features:
 -Mobs:

-Villager Priest: Spawns naturally in priest temples. Cannot attack. You can bribe him using gold, diamonds or emeralds by right clicking on him. Each of these has a different value (Gold = 1, Diamond = 2, Emerald = 3). Then by shift+right clicking you can get an item. The amount donated is visible above his head. Donations: 5-9 = Cleanse, 10-14 = Totem of undying, 15-19 = Bottle of blessing, 20+ = Blessed Cross

-Cultist: Spawns naturally in cultist camps. Is naturally aggressive.

-Mortem: Boss. Spawns via ritual. Phase 1: 1 normal attack, 1 ground slam attack. Phase 2: 1 normal attack, 1 ground slam attack, 1 spin attack. Goes into phase 2 when below 50% HP. Drops the Axe of Mortem. Gives you the Death's curse effect when you're near him.

-Crocodile: Naturally spawns in swamps and mangrove swamps. Passive, but will attack if provoked. Long attack range.

-Mecha Croc: Boss. Can be spawned by the player via the spawn egg. 1 normal attack, 1 fire breath attack.

-Gladiator Piglin: Miniboss. Spawns naturally in the crumbling wastelands. 1 normal attack, 1 ground slam attack, 1 fireball attack.

-Items:

-Bottle of Blessing: Gives you the Blessed effect.

-Cross: Gives you luck when held. While using: 25% chance to get regeneration 2.

-Blessed Cross: Gives you luck 2 when held. Strikes a ray at the location of the crosshair.

-Cursed Ingot: Can be obtained if a Cultist hits you while you are holding a Melted Netherite Ingot

-Cursed Smithing Template: Dropped by Mortem. Can be used to upgrade netherite equipment to Cursed via the Cursed Ingot.

-Melted Netherite Ingot: Can be obtained by right-clicking the top of a volcano with a netherite ingot.

          -Crocodile Scale

          -Crocodile Tooth

          -Cursed Equipment

-Axe of Mortem: Gives you the ability to do a ground slam like Mortem by right clicking on a block.

-Axe of Mortem (Cursed):Gives you the ability to do a ground slam like Mortem by right clicking on a block. Gives you the ability to do a spin attack like Mortem by shift-right clicking.

          -Crocodile Armor

          -Cultist Hook

-Biomes:

-Crumbling Wastelands: Generates in the Nether. Has volcanos in it, but only on the Nether roof.

-Structures

-Priest Temple: Generates in the overworld. Spawns the Priest.

-Cultist Camp: Generates in plains. Spawns Cultists.

-Volcano: Spawns in the Crumbling Wastelands

-Effects:

-Death's Curse: Makes your health drop to 50%. You can not regenerate more than 50% of your health.

-Blessed: Makes you immune to Death's Curse and Blessed Rays.

-Stunned: Makes you unable to attack or walk.

-Mechanics:

-Blessed Ray: Summoned by a Blessed cross. Sends a ray from the sun to the earth, burning and damaging any target (including the summoner).

-Ritual: Can be started when redstone dust is arranged in a + pattern and has candles on the corners. Can be performed by right clicking on the middle redstone dust, then right clicking again with a Cultist Hook.

Also I know the Mortem attacks are a bit too powerful. I'll probably nerf them in the next update.

Frequently Asked Questions

Ruinous server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong forge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Ruinous compatible with forge?

Ruinous officially supports forge for Minecraft 1.20.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Ruinous – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Ruinous consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
