About this Mod

Sands of Time

Sands of Time is an addon for the Relics mod that adds the Entropic Hourglass, an ancient relic that lets you bend time itself.

Discovered through archaeology in desert pyramids and desert wells, this hourglass passively absorbs temporal energy and lets you spend it to accelerate the world around you.

The Entropic Hourglass

A curio charm with three powerful abilities that grow stronger as you level up.

Chrono-Accumulation (Passive)

The hourglass passively absorbs temporal energy while sitting in any inventory slot. Your stored time is shown as a HUD overlay and fuels all active abilities. Higher levels mean faster accumulation.

Temporal Injection (Unlocks at Level 3)

Right-click any block to inject temporal energy, accelerating it for 30 seconds:

  • Machines & Tile Entities — Furnaces smelt faster, hoppers transfer faster, brewing stands brew faster
  • Crops & Nature — Wheat, carrots, saplings, sugar cane, cactus, and any randomly-ticking block grow at incredible speeds
  • Click the same block to cycle through speed multipliers (2x → 4x → 8x → ... up to 512x!)
  • Maximum speed scales with ability level

Bio-Overclock (Unlocks at Level 8)

Right-click a living entity to overclock its biological processes for 30 seconds:

  • Speed up animal growth, mob AI, and entity behavior
  • Re-click to extend duration or upgrade speed
  • Requires line of sight — cannot target players

How to Obtain

The Entropic Hourglass is found through archaeology — brush suspicious sand in:

  • Desert Pyramids (~5% chance)
  • Desert Wells (~5% chance)

Configuration

Fully configurable through the in-game Mods menu:

  • Block Blacklist — prevent specific blocks from being accelerated
  • Entity Blacklist — prevent specific entities from being overclocked
  • HUD Display Mode — action bar, top-left overlay, or disabled
