About this Mod

This mod randomizes the scale attribute of every mob. By default it happens every 60 seconds but this can be changed by editing the config file. The mod has an option to unlock the scale of the happy ghast, ender dragon and shulkers, be warned this may cause issues.

Inside scale-randomizer.json you will find:

  • scaleTimer: how long until scale is randomized in ticks, default 1200
  • fullRangeChance: the chance that the random scale will be between 0.0625 and 16, instead of 0.25 and 1.75, default 0.05
  • shouldEffectPlayers: if players should have their scale randomized, default true
  • uncapScale: if shulkers, happy ghasts and ender dragons should have their scale uncapped, default false

Frequently Asked Questions

Scale Randomizer server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.10). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Scale Randomizer compatible with fabric?

Scale Randomizer officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.10. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Scale Randomizer – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Scale Randomizer consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
