About this Mod
ScalpelMod
ScalpelMod adds professional tools with questionable applications.
This is not a weapon mod first. It is a utility-focused Minecraft Forge mod about tools being pushed beyond their intended purpose. Everything is designed to feel clean, functional, and connected to a larger system.
Community Project
ScalpelMod is a community-updated mod. Contributions are welcome from anyone with the skill to help improve the project.
You can contribute if you can work on things like:
- code
- textures
- models
- recipes
- balancing
- systems
- documentation
- ideas that fit the mod’s direction
Even texture editing alone can be useful if it matches the mod’s visual style and quality standards.
Current Features
- Scalpel
- A fast, low-damage melee tool
- Built around precision rather than brute force
- Includes the custom Surgical Combo combat mechanic
- Consecutive hits on the same target increase damage temporarily
- Resets when switching targets, stopping too long, or dropping the combo
Design Direction
ScalpelMod is built around a serious, professional tone:
- tools first, weapons second
- clean utility-focused design
- systems that connect together
- no random standalone content
- vanilla-friendly presentation
Future content may include more tools, blocks, mobs, structures, and interconnected systems based around labs, facilities, job sites, and professional environments.

- Minecraft Forge
- Minecraft 1.20.1
Status
ScalpelMod is early in development. More features and systems are planned.

ScalpelMod server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong forge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is ScalpelMod compatible with forge?
ScalpelMod officially supports forge for Minecraft 1.20.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with ScalpelMod – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if ScalpelMod consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
