About this Mod
Shield Blocks Fall Damage
In this datapack, you can block fall damage by looking downwards and blocking with your shield. This damage blocking can also be customized to block all damage, or some damage.
If you download the bouncy version of this project, you will bounce when you block fall damage with a shield. Make sure you download the required secondary datapack if you want this (listed in the bouncy version).
Config
Setting Shield Fall Damage Reduction
To change the amount of fall damage blocked, do the following command:
/function shieldfall:config/set_shield_fall_damage {value:<insert damage here>}
Where it says
- 0 is no fall damage
- 0.5 is half fall damage
- 1 is full fall damage (no damage reduction)
Warnings:
- Make sure you do not put the <> symbols in the command.
- values below 0 and above 1 may change the behavior of the shield fall damage blocking in unexpected ways, do it at your own risk!
Setting Config Back to Defaults
To set the config back to the default values, do the following command:
/function shieldfall:config/set_defaults

How to Install Shield Blocks Fall Damage on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set datapack Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the datapack loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.3).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Shield Blocks Fall Damage". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.
