About this Mod
Shield Surf
Adds new shield enchantments to Minecraft:
- Shield Surf : Allows the user to ride the shield, somewhat like a surfboard
- Aegis : Shields with this enchantment with automatically block for you when they are in the inventory, but will be put on cooldown upon activation
- Rapid : Using the shield does not slow you down
- Expulsion : Casts out shields around the user
- Orbit : Summons orbiting shields that block attacks
- Rebound : Projectiles will ricochet and bounce in the direction they came from upon hitting the shield
Detailed descriptions of the enchantments can be viewed in the mod's language file or through an enchantment description mod.
This mod is configurable through gamerules. Install YACL for more client configuration options.

How to Install Shield Surf on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.1).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Shield Surf". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Shield Surf server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Shield Surf compatible with fabric?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Shield Surf consumes the most tick time.
