About this Mod

Shrinking World

The world is hunting you. Keep moving or be consumed.

Shrinking World is a challenge mod designed for dramatic video content where the Minecraft world actively tries to destroy players. Stay still too long, mine too much, or build in one spot — and the ground beneath you will collapse into the void.

🎮 How It Works

Pressure System

Every player has an invisible pressure meter (0-100) that builds when you:

  • Stand still
  • Mine blocks
  • Place blocks

When pressure gets too high, the world begins to destabilize around you. Keep moving to reduce pressure and escape!

Collapse Stages

Stage Pressure What Happens
Safe 0-59 Nothing — you're fine
⚠️ Warning 60-79 Screen warnings, ominous sounds
☢️ Instability 80-94 Columns begin falling, minor damage
☠️ Collapse 95-100 Massive void holes, heavy damage

Void Collapse

When collapse triggers, entire columns of blocks (including bedrock!) physically fall into the void, leaving permanent holes. This creates dramatic moments where the world literally crumbles around you.

Escape Mechanic

You can escape! When you start running:

  • Pressure decays much faster
  • The collapse happens behind you, not on top of you
  • Keep sprinting to outrun the destruction

Frequently Asked Questions

Shrinking World server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.11). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Shrinking World compatible with fabric?

Shrinking World officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.11, 1.21.10. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Shrinking World – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Shrinking World consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
