Shrug It Off
Adds a chance for Toughness to block weak attacks
About this Mod
Gives Toughness more purpose. Any normal physical damage has a chance to be "shrugged off", based on the toughness of the target.
If the damage is successfully shrugged off, a "clink!" sound will play, and the attack will be completely blocked (no armor durability loss, no status effects applied by the attack.)
The exact formula, damage types, items affected, and entities affected are now all configurable.
Works with any toughness granted by other mods, including potion effects.
Recommended mods to pair this with:
Set Bonus - lets you add extra toughness as a bonus for equipping a full set of an armor type.
Rustic - adds a potion of Diamond Skin which boosts toughness greatly.
FutureMC - backports Netherite armor, which is more useful with ShrugItOff installed
Material Changer - lets you configure new toughness values for any armor item in the game
And of course, any modded armors with higher toughness than vanilla
Built for Minecraft 1.12.2.
It should be pretty simple to port to other versions, and it is totally open source.

How to Install Shrug It Off on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set forge Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the forge loader and matching Minecraft version (1.12.2).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Shrug It Off". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Shrug It Off server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong forge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.12.2). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Shrug It Off compatible with forge?
Shrug It Off officially supports forge for Minecraft 1.12.2. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Shrug It Off – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Shrug It Off consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
