About this Mod
| DESCRIPTION |
Adds a new item allowing you to set up a temporary beacon anywhere by dropping the item on the ground. It will also trigger on death, making it easy to get back to your death location. The recipe below will not be shown in the in-game recipe book until crafted, so make sure you reference this page or have a mod to show the recipe. The beam will go through blocks above it, and will move with the item if moved in water or with a piston. Stack size is limited to 1. Also, it will despawn after 5 minutes of being loaded, so it's not a permanent beam (unless you use a dropper to replace it)

Incompatible with packs that use the same recipe, tags, or function name. It uses the vanilla glowstone dust item, so you can craft it into the same things, but it's more valuable so don't forget and waste it.

How to Install Simple Portable Beacon on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set datapack Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the datapack loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.11).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Simple Portable Beacon". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Simple Portable Beacon server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong datapack version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.11). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Simple Portable Beacon officially supports datapack, fabric, forge, neoforge, quilt for Minecraft 1.21.11, 1.21.10, 1.21.9. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Simple Portable Beacon consumes the most tick time.
