SlotLock
A simple client-side mod that let you lock your slots.
About this Mod
SlotLock
How it works:
The mod itself it's pretty simple, you only need to place your mouse above the slot you want to lock and press the slotlock keybind (Left Alt by default) and that's it. Locked slots cancel every keypress that tries to interact with it, so you can't accidentally throw an item you need in the trash, or store something in a chest you'll need later, or drop items without knowing.
Why does this exist:
I was throwing some items in the trash and accidentally clicked in my golden backpack with 1 hour worth of ores.
Known issues:
Due to this being a client-side mod, all server-side operations will completely ignore your locked slots. The following list of things will not work and will not be fixed.
- If you have wood in a locked slot and uses the recipe book (or REI) to place items in the crafting table, the wood will be moved.
- If you have a locked slot with available space and walk over a dropped stack, the locked slot will be filled with the gathered item.
- If you're quick moving items from a chest to your inventory, and the locked slot has available space, it will be filled.
- If another mod tries to interact with your inventory, it'll probably work
It's likely that this mod is going to have a lot of incompatibility with other mods. Feel free to report it as an issue in the mod's GitHub page.

SlotLock server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.19.2). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is SlotLock compatible with fabric?
SlotLock officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.19.2, 1.18.2, 1.18.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with SlotLock – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if SlotLock consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
