Snapshot
A way to consistently load the same world every time.
About this Mod
Purpose and Function
Snapshot is a mod that intercepts the creation of the world to copy the contents of a template world instead.
This means that when the world is created, it will use the same world, same seed, same settings, every time.
This is useful for modpacks who provide a static world for the player, and the world must be generated the same every time.
Usage
To use, copy the CONTENTS of your world into the templates folder within your Minecraft instance. Once copied and with the config setting useTemplates set to true, the world will be instantiated as your world each and every time you hit "Create World".
Config settings:
Config can be found in
useTemplates: If set to true, will use the template listed. Set to false if you don't want to generate the same world each and every time.
useTemplateWorldSettings: If set to true, will use the world settings set initially by the template. Set to false if you want to allow the player to customize their settings.

Snapshot server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 4 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Snapshot compatible with fabric?
Snapshot officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.20.1, 1.19.4, 1.19.2. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Snapshot – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 6 GB (per 5 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Snapshot consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
