Solar Soar
An Elytra enchantment that allows you to fly for longer (most of the time)
About this Mod
Description
Solar Soar is an enchantment for your Elytra with three levels. It mends 1 durability every X amount of ticks (faster with a higher level). It works as follows:
- Level 1: 1 durability / 3.5s
- Level 2: 1 durability / 2.5s
- Level 3: 1 durability / 1.5s
- Level 4: 1 durability / 0.75s
Of course, this comes with a small drawback: It will only mend while equipped in your chest slot. It will also only mend in the Overworld while exposed to sunlight. It also works at night if you're close to a bright enough light source and still exposed to the moonlight. This does not really matter while flying though, since during your flight you will most likely not be near any light sources.
When to use it
The choice is between this enchantment and Mending. Mending is, of course, more universal since it can be used anywhere, but it also requires xp and you pretty much always have to land to use it.
Solar Soar only works during the day in the Overworld (unless you stand below the moonlight with a bright enough light source), but it is completely free once you've enchanted your Elytra with it. (I guess you could also just have two Elytras depending on what you're doing but shhh)
Where to find it
This enchantment is found in a new structure: the End Portal Frame. It's an End Portal found in the End Highlands that looks just like the one in a Stronghold: 12 frames, some with eyes in them. There is a hidden chest somewhere in the ruins, but it's not very hard to find.

Solar Soar officially supports datapack, fabric, forge, neoforge, quilt for Minecraft 1.21.1, 1.21. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Solar Soar – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Solar Soar consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
